The challenge

• Communities in the merged areas of KP needed to understand how local government works and how to use it.
• Village and Neighbourhood Councils needed a direct channel to government officials.

The solution

• Upgraded the LGS learning management system and created visual e-content with images that explain procedures simply.
• Built the LGS website with portals connecting Village/Neighbourhood Councils and officials, and public access to council information.
• Released Android and iOS training apps, trained LGS staff, and gave a year of online learning and meeting support.

The results

• Community members learn their rights and local government processes online.
• Councils and officials communicate through one transparent platform.
